Potable water supply for a public school
Koundjoaré - Togo - 2023
Context
In 2023, in collaboration with the Club Aide association, the company PVsyst provided financial and technical support for a solar-powered project to supply sanitary drinking water benefiting the public school located in Koundjoaré, Togo.

Technical Focus
In partnership with the ClubAide association, several projects were carried out:
- Construction of a 12m³ water tower, with a base slab located 8m above ground
- Construction of three collective handwashing stations within the school grounds
- Construction of a public water fountain outside the school grounds
- Installation of a fence around the entire school
In 2023, the ClubAide team installed the photovoltaic pumping system, the manual measuring device, and the distribution network supplying the collective handwashing stations and the public fountain.
The public fountain allows the villagers to collect water.
The cost of the water used is accounted for in the school’s management.
The income from water sales to the villagers is used to create a maintenance fund to sustain the water supply system:

- Replacement of taps and valves
- Eventually, replacement of the pump in case of failure
Social Focus
In addition to the technical aspect, PVsyst contributed to improving learning conditions by providing around fifty desk-benches suitable for children, thereby helping to complete the classroom equipment.
In collaboration with the ClubAide association, educational posters about the importance of handwashing and good hygiene practices were created and displayed in the classrooms.
