Potable water supply for a public school

Koundjoaré, Togo, 2023

Context

In 2023, in collaboration with the Club Aide association, the company PVsyst provided financial and technical support for a solar-powered project to supply sanitary drinking water benefiting the public school located in Koundjoaré, Togo.

The village of Koundjoaré is situated in the northern region of Togo.

Achievement by Club Aide

  • A 12m3 concrete water tower – 8m below ground level – is built
  • Three communal handwashing stations and a water standpipe.

In 2023, the Club Aide team installed the photovoltaic pumping system, the manual measurement system, and then constructed the distribution network to the communal handwashing stations and the water standpipe.

A water standpipe also allows nearby residents to fetch water. The cost of the water used is accounted for in the management of the school.
