Custom data import

When following the procedure to create a new site and after defining the geographic coordinated, you can import custom monthly wearther values.

Importing 12 monthly values

If you have your monthly data in another software (for example Excel), as a series of 12 values either as a row or as a column, with any separator, you may import it as follows:

  • Choose the suited units for the available irradiations
  • Go to the external software and "Copy" (Ctrl+C) your list of 12 values (Irradiations, Temperatures or Wind velocities),
  • Paste them in the corresponding column (with the paste button)
  • To enable extra data select the variables in the right menu
  • Finally, save your new site with a meaningful file name.

Exporting monthly values

To export the complete site data you can click on Export table. This will save the site data in a CSV (semicolon separator) format in your clipboard. Then, you can either paste it in excel or any text editor. The default unit for irradiances will be used, i.e. kWh/m2/mth.

To import data directly from a CSV file, you can prepare your data in the same format as the export above. A quick way to obtain a template is therefore to choose an existing site and export it; you can then replace the values as seen fit. The irradiance data has to be prepared in kWh/m2/mth. The required columns of data are Horizontal Global irradiation and Ambient Temperature. You can then copy your data in the clipboard. Clicking on Import will overwrite the current site definitions.
