The activation key is a 35 characters key used to identify your license purchase. Keep it safely somewhere because you will need it when activating and synchronizing your license.

How to get an activation key ?

Please visit https://www.pvsyst.com to buy a license or a subscription extension. Then you will receive the activation key from us by email.

You will receive as many activation keys as licenses you purchased.

When do I need my activation key ?

•License activation: to enjoy full capabilities of PVsyst you have to activate it, this requires the activation key.

•License synchronization: when you purchase an update support extension or when you have to freely renew your license, the license needs to be synchronized. This also requires the activation key but if the activation procedure was already done the activation key was stored in PVsyst, so you do not need to remember it.

•License transfer: if you have to switch your license to another computer, you will first deactivate it on the old computer and then activate it on the new one(this is a regular license activation, it therefore needs the activation key).

What is the difference between PVsyst 6 activation keys and PVsyst 7 activation keys ?

The PVsyst 6 activation keys are 32 characters long, when the PVsyst 7 activation keys are 35 characters long and they always start with "v7-".

Can I use my PVsyst 6 activation key to activate PVsyst 7 ?

In any case, if your PVsyst 6 license has an active update support when PVsyst 7 is released you will be able to use it until the end of this update support with the same activation key.

Then, depending on your license status when PVsyst 7 is released, you may be granted an additional amount of time :

•If you purchased your PVsyst 6 license in the last two years and still have an active update support, you will be granted with one additional year of PVsyst 7 subscription for free

•If you purchased your PVsyst 6 license in the last two years and you did not purchase update support, you will be granted with six additional months of PVsyst 7 subscription for free

If you purchased your PVsyst 6 license more than two years ago and your update support is not active, then you will not be able to use PVsyst 7 with this license.

If you purchased a PVsyst 6 PRO30 license and if you are able to use PVsyst 7 with it, it will automatically be converted to a PVsyst 7 PROFESSIONAL license.

If you are granted access to version 7 by one of the above cases, you can directly enter your PVsyst 6 activation key in the activation dialog and it will be automatically prefixed with "v7-".
