Versions
PVsyst release cycle is defined by the following versions types:
Major versions
Major versions include significant changes to the PVsyst interface and models, as well as many new features. The latest major version is PVsyst 8; previous versions include PVsyst 6, 5, and 4. These versions are released only when there is a genuine need, such as a change in the licensing system.
Minor versions
Minor versions include new features and enhancements to existing features. They are released when the features and improvements are ready. An example of a minor version is PVsyst 8.2. Multiple minor versions can be installed in parallel on the same computer.
Patch versions
Patch versions fix issues in minor versions. They are released as soon as possible, depending on the severity of the problem. It is recommended that you always use the latest patch version of your minor version to benefit from all published fixes. An example of a patch version is PVsyst 8.2.5.
Install several versions side-by-side
With PVsyst 8 it is possible to install multiple versions of any kind on the same computer.
