Pump data: performance curves

This sheet is for the entry of the operating points defining the pump model.

You may first choose the units for head and flowrate according to your original data.

For each curve, choose the parameter (Voltage or Head). Curve modifications affect the highlighted curve selected in the "Set curve" box (shown in red).

To construct a curve, place the data points at their approximate positions using right-clicks of the mouse, then specify their exact values in the editing boxes.

Since the curves are relatively linear (due to cubic interpolations), increasing the number of data points does not improve accuracy. Usually 4 or 5 points per curve and 3 or 4 curves are sufficient.

In some cases, power thresholds (for flow production) are naturally defined by extrapolation of the data curve (for example, in Flowrate=f(Power) curves). In other cases, they are defined through the voltage threshold and the I=f(U) characteristics. Threshold determination and behavior around them is one of the more challenging features of the pump model.

NB: After this definition, please examine the graphs to check the general model behavior. If irregularities or inconsistencies are observed, it is possible that one or more points are not well defined. We have sometimes observed that original data are not well defined (aligned) in the datasheets.
