Universal battery

In some cases, you may need to define a generic battery pack using only its voltage and capacity, independent of real components. This may be useful, for example, when starting a project or for sizing optimization (batch mode).

In both stand-alone and grid-storage systems, you can always choose a "Universal" battery in the database. This may be either lead-acid or Li-Ion (LFP) device.

You are simply prompted to define a nominal voltage and capacity. PVsyst will construct a pack by assembling standard elementary blocks (12, 24, or 48 V for lead-acid; 12.8, 25.6, or 51.2 V for Li-ion). The final voltage will not exactly match your requirement, depending on these basic voltages. However, the capacity of the blocks can be adjusted without constraint.

PVsyst will then construct these blocks with all necessary parameters set to their default values. This allows you to use the Universal batteries as a standard battery in the simulation.

You can open the battery block like a normal battery to view the specified parameters and behavior. However, you cannot modify them.
