The default font used in all dialogs is MS Sans Serif. You can change it in Preferences >> Preferences >> Internationalization >> Font.

Actually in some countries, it happens that special characters cannot always be rendered using MS Sans Serif. In this case switching to Tahoma might solve the problem.
